UNIQUE, CHARISMATIC, FRIENDLY, REAL, amazing, direct, exciting, mysterious, blessed, spirit filled, perfection, exquisite, delightful, accommodating, magical, restful, fun, these are a few words that easily describe Thayer’s Historic B&B in Annandale, MN and its talented owner, psychic, and chef, Sharon Gammell, her two Maine Coon Kitties and Thayer’s ghosts.

Thayer’s Historic Bed & Breakfast is an 11 room, luxury plus bed and breakfast with all private baths; it is a haunted, award-winning treasure located just west of the Twin Cities and south of St. Cloud, MN in the “heart of the lakes” region.

Visit Thayer’s For Retreats Of All Kinds

With its location, Thayer’s makes a getaway perfect for a personal or business retreat, team building sessions, meetings, or a reunion. Thayer’s is close enough to save time and money on travel expenses and still far enough away to be a fun. To quote an article written by Beth Gauper, a staff columnist at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, “At the Thayer…, a weekend is a portal into a completely different frame of mind.”

Thayer’s Hosts A Variety of Events

Thayer’s is known for its lavish accommodations, cordial service, authentic antiques, celebrated food, Old West atmosphere, interactive Murder Mystery Dinners where everyone becomes someone else for the evening, exciting dinner shows that include live professional talent, insightful psychic readings and paranormal classes, and very sociable ghosts. It’s a grand setting for events, a fun place to stay, to eat, to play, and to learn.

Ghosts Reside at Thayer’s

Yes, Thayer’s is haunted; ranked #5 on Odd Inns list of Best Haunted Places to Stay in the USA. The ghosts at Thayer’s are not Casper, but, they are friendly. All the same, they do like to play with people and enjoy a good boo now and again. None of the ghosts are stuck entities and visit for many reasons. For example, they visit because they have a great time here and come back often, they have friends and family in the area, someone referred them, they have strong ties to the building’s architecture, they know someone that used to live here, they worked on the building, they are curious, as a child they rode by and remember it, they have always wanted to visit.

Many photos have been taken of Thayer’s ghosts, many orbs have been seen. One of the more frequent ghost guests—Miss Lilly—even helps out during Ghost Hunting 101 classes that owner Sharon Gammell offers.

Owner Sharon Gammell, A Psychic Who Also Cooks Well

Thayer’s owner, Sharon Gammell, is multi-talented. Not only is she a trusted psychic and medium, she is a friendly hostess, a self-taught gourmet chef of many years and has had four successful restaurants in the Twin Cities. Over the years she has catered to groups as small as two people and as large as 1,500. This experienced chef is happy to accommodate her guests with fine foods, wonderful staff, and extraordinary surroundings. Her home is ideal for a small intimate wedding where Sharon can officiate the wedding as well.

Sharon cooks without recipes and has an eye and imagination for delightful twists that tempt even the most discerning palate. She can take the ordinary to the new and extraordinary. Preferring traditional to trendy, her food takes on a comfortable and familiar character, but don’t be fooled, she is not traditional.

Sharon loves a challenge and her cooking is truly a gift from her heart to her guests. When special diets are required, with an advance notice of 24 hours, one can be assured that your needs will be met with enthusiasm. One can be confident that you will experience unequaled cuisine, rich in flavor and presentation—even when foods are gluten-free, dairy-free, soy- and sugar-free, vegan, vegetarian and heart healthy. Special diets are not an issue for this amazing chef.

“Sharon and A Gluten-Free Me!”—another of her endeavors—is a gluten-free, dairy-free dining experience one Friday per month at Thayer’s. You can find all the details including the menu, photos and prices at www.thayers.net or www.aglutenfreeme.com

Sharon says, “My focus at Thayer’s Historic Bed & Breakfast is creating a B&B event or get-a-way that includes an outstanding experience for each and every guest, an experience that can connect you to your true self, an experience that provides access to the powerful filled person you are becoming, an experience that is fun-filled with laughter and insight, an experience that will have your body, mind, and soul, not only joined but, happy again, and an experience that will have you excited about more.”
